Bisk Education History

Bisk EducationIt began with an idea and a few blank audio cassettes.

Today, the company that Nathan Bisk founded in the garage of his Gainesville, Fla., home in 1971 is recognized as a global leader in online education.

In its infancy, Bisk Education offered audio lectures and textbooks for Certified Public Accountant exam candidates. By the mid-1990s, the company was blazing a trail in the development of Internet-based, instructor-led online programs, harnessing cutting-edge technology and providing 24/7 access through its proprietary online learning management system.

“Our intent is to provide people with an education and give people the American Dream,” Nathan Bisk previously told his alma mater, Franklin and Marshall College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.

To date, Bisk Education’s University Alliance division has enrolled almost 500,000 students from more than 70 countries in undergraduate degree, graduate degree and professional certificate programs.

With approximately 800 employees at its corporate campus in Tampa, Fla., Bisk Education is proud to be assisting a growing number of the nation’s most renowned colleges, such as Notre Dame, Villanova, Michigan State and more, in advancing their missions through online education.

“As a leader in online education, we’re committed to maximizing convenience while upholding the highest academic standards of our university partners,” said Nathan Bisk, who also has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida.

Moving forward, Nathan Bisk and Bisk Education continue to strive toward being the nation’s leader in online education while remaining dedicated their mission statement, which is to be the end-to-end solutions provider of lifelong learning that allows adult learners to reach their personal and professional goals through education.
